The North Korean regime has threatened to cancel its planned summit with US President Donald Trump next week.
The North Korean government cancelled high level talks it was due to have on Wednesday with its Southern neighbour over fears of the US insisting on unilateral disarmament of its nuclear weapons.
The regime’s news agency, the KCNA cited the fear of a ‘Libya style’ denuclearisation being pressured on them by the US, and said they are gearing up to refuse any attempts to do so.
The US administration remains hopeful about the summit, planned for Singapore next month, with White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders saying ‘the president is ready if the meeting takes place.’
‘If it doesn’t, we’ll continue the maximum pressure campaign that’s been ongoing.’
